How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’s new J. Pierrepont Finch, Darren Criss, became a overnight star playing Dalton Academy Warbler Blaine Anderson on the Fox hit Glee. This season another Warbler is having his moment in the spotlight: West Side Story tour veteran Grant Gustin is stirring things up as the manipulative man-stealing Sebastian. When Criss dropped by Broadway.com’s Show People with Paul Wontorek, he discussed Gustin and the chance of a gay Glee love-triangle.
“He’s one of these guys I look at where I’m like, ‘Uh, you’re the real deal! You can really dance, you can sing, the whole thing,'” Criss said of Gustin. “He’s a great addition to everything.”
While Criss hopes Blaine does not break Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) heart, he added, “If that did happen, I’d be open to the idea. Shake it up a little bit.”
Gustin first appeared on Glee’s November 8 episode. His character and Blaine hit it off causing fans to speculate that Blaine and Kurt could potentially split.
Criss is starring in How to Succeed until January 22. Pop star Nick Jonas assumes the role of J. Pierrepont Finch beginning January 24.
